In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A strange encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous changes echo through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret cult.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
